Check ceiling clearance
Estimated minimum hardwired ceiling-to-bottom drop: 50EN 14.8" · 70EN 17.9" · 95EN 20.7".
Based on a 1" canopy, at least 10 cm of exposed cord and the shade height. Additional fittings may increase the drop.
- 8 ft ceiling over a 30"-high table: a 30–36" table-to-shade clearance leaves 30–36" for the total installed drop. Compare this with the estimates above.
- 8 ft ceiling with a walking area below: none keeps 7 ft of floor clearance at the minimum drop.
Have your installer confirm the final drop and sightlines.
Using several pendants?
For matching shades at the same height, add your chosen gap to the shade diameter. A 6" gap gives about 25.7" between 50EN centers, 33.6" for 70EN or 43.4" for 95EN. The gap is a styling example, not a required clearance.
