Start with the table or seating area you want to light. Compare the room examples below, then check the hanging space before you choose.

These are planning examples. Room area alone does not confirm fit or brightness; check the final mounting layout before ordering.

  • Line drawing of a 14-ball single strand over a compact seating arrangement. Concept only, not to scale.

    14-Ball

    Small living room

    Room example10 × 12 ft120 sq ft · 11.1 m²

Loveseat + coffee table · 9 ft ceiling

Start here for a small seating area. This is the shortest single strand, with a more compact reference layout than the 18-Ball.

    Check the fit

The product reference layout spans 39.4 in and drops 22.8 in. With a 9 ft ceiling, the lowest globe would sit 85.2 in above the floor.

  • Line drawing of an 18-ball single strand above a rectangular dining table. Concept only, not to scale.

    18-Ball

    Breakfast room

    Room example12 × 14 ft168 sq ft · 15.6 m²

    60 × 36 in table · 8 ft ceiling

Consider this for a compact dining table. Its reference layout is narrower and hangs higher than the 23-Ball, making it worth checking first with an 8 ft ceiling.

    Check the fit

The product reference layout spans 45.3 in and drops 30.7 in. Above a 30 in high table in this example, that leaves 35.3 in between the lowest globe and the tabletop.

  • Line drawing of a 23-ball single strand above a rectangular dining table. Concept only, not to scale.

    23-Ball

    Dining room

    Room example12 × 16 ft192 sq ft · 17.8 m²

    78 × 40 in table · 8 ft 6 in ceiling

Run the strand lengthwise over a longer dining table. The reference layout spans 9.8 in more than the 18-Ball and also hangs lower, so compare both with your ceiling height.

    Check the fit

The product reference layout spans 55.1 in and drops 38.6 in. With the example ceiling and a 30 in high table, the tabletop clearance would be 33.4 in.

  • Line drawing of a 32-ball single strand above a long dining table. Concept only, not to scale.

    32-Ball

    Rectangular dining room

    Room example14 × 20 ft280 sq ft · 26.0 m²

    108 × 42 in table · 9 ft 6 in ceiling

Consider this single strand above a long dining table. Its reference layout spans 78.7 in, so check both the table length and hanging drop before choosing it.

    Check the fit

The product reference layout drops 51.2 in. With a 9 ft 6 in ceiling and a 30 in high table, that leaves 32.8 in above the tabletop. A lower ceiling needs a different layout review.

  • Line drawing of a 55-ball single strand in a tall entry concept. Not to scale and not a mounting plan.

    55-Ball

    Two-story foyer

    Room example14 × 16 ft224 sq ft · 20.8 m²

Open entry floor · 16 ft ceiling

Consider the longest strand for a two-story foyer. The height of the entry matters as much as its floor area; plan where the lowest globe will sit.

    Check the fit

The product reference layout spans 102.4 in and drops 99.6 in. In this 16 ft high foyer, the lowest globe would be 92.4 in above the floor. Stairways need a separate clearance check.

  • Composition line drawing with one 14-ball strand and one 18-ball strand. No installed footprint is shown.

    14+18 Balls

    Living room seating area

    Room example14 × 16 ft224 sq ft · 20.8 m²

Sofa + two chairs · 10 ft ceiling

Choose this for two overlapping strands above a coffee table. It has 32 globes across two strands; the 32-Ball model has one continuous strand.

    Check the fit

A 10 ft ceiling leaves a 36 in drop budget if you want 7 ft of clearance over a walkway. Ask for the complete arrangement’s width, depth and drop; the two strand lengths do not confirm the overall fit.

  • Composition line drawing with one 18-ball strand and one 23-ball strand. No installed footprint is shown.

    18+23 Balls

    Open-plan seating area

    Room example16 × 18 ft288 sq ft · 26.8 m²

Seating zone within a larger room · 10 ft 6 in ceiling

Use the pair to mark out a seating area in an open living room. Compared with 14+18, it keeps the 18-ball strand and replaces the shorter strand with a 23-ball strand.

    Check the fit

This example measures the seating zone, not the whole open-plan room. A 10 ft 6 in ceiling allows a 42 in drop with 7 ft below. Confirm the complete arrangement’s width, depth and drop before ordering.

  • Composition line drawing with 14-ball, 18-ball and 23-ball strands. No installed footprint is shown.

    14+18+23 Balls

    Large living room

    Room example18 × 20 ft360 sq ft · 33.4 m²

Sectional + coffee table · 11 ft ceiling

Choose three strands when you want more overlap above a large seating group. This adds a 14-ball strand to the 18+23 pairing; confirm the whole arrangement against your furniture layout.

    Check the fit

An 11 ft ceiling allows a 48 in drop while leaving 7 ft below. This is a planning budget, not a confirmed fixture height. Request the complete arrangement’s width, depth and lowest point.

18 or 23 balls with an 8 ft ceiling?

For a 78 in table that is 30 in high, the 18-Ball reference leaves 35.3 in above the table; the 23-Ball reference leaves 27.4 in. Start with the 18-Ball layout: the 23-Ball reference sits below the usual 30–36 in planning range. If you prefer the 23-Ball, ask whether another mounting layout can provide enough clearance.

What should I check before ordering?

As a planning starting point, allow 30–36 in above a dining tabletop and about 7 ft below the fixture over walkways. Have your installer check your space; stairways need their own clearance review.

The reference span is the distance across one layout; the drop is from the ceiling to the lowest globe. Moving the mounting points changes both, while strand length stays fixed. The available adjustment range needs confirmation.

Share your ceiling height, furniture dimensions and preferred arrangement. Request a mounting plan with the overall width, depth and lowest point, especially for combinations.

Room sizes and furniture are illustrative. Product reference dimensions describe one layout, not minimum hanging heights. Drawings are not to scale; combination drawings show the strands only.
