Create a calm focal point with a Washi paper and bamboo pendant lamp shaped for soft, room-warming light. The round lantern form adds visual presence without feeling heavy, making it a natural fit over a dining table, in a bedroom, beside a lounge chair, above a desk, or in an open living space.

The D Series is especially useful when scale matters. Choose a compact 11.8-inch shade for smaller rooms and quiet corners, or move up to a 47.2-inch pendant when a high ceiling, larger seating area, or open-plan room needs a stronger visual anchor. Black and white wire options help the fixture coordinate with your ceiling, trim, furniture, and hardware.

The pendant is hardwired by default for a clean ceiling-mounted look. A standard non-dimmable bulb is included, while compatible remote-control dimmable bulb and plug-in cord add-ons are available separately for eligible setups. For larger pendant sizes, choose a brighter bulb if you need stronger room lighting.

This is a nice, lower priced option for an Akari lamp. Packaging and instructions are top notch and it looks great.
The only issue I have is that it’s incompatible with a dimmer switch.

Beautiful Wabi-sabi Paper

Love the quality of the light paper. It looks amazing in our livingroom.

This light shade is just beautiful! The black wire fixture element is not nice enough to justify the price, and I replaced it with a cloth covered cord and a porcelain socket. So it looks perfect now - but for the price it should have had a nicer fitting that came with it.

We wanted to provide some clarification regarding the cord. Initially, we did consider using fabric-wrapped cords, but we decided against it for the following three reasons:

1. UL Certification: All fabric-wrapped cords on the market currently do not meet UL certification standards. The copper core inside these cords does not meet U.S. safety regulations. For safety reasons, we chose to use cords that are UL-certified and fully comply with U.S. safety standards.

2. Ease of Cleaning: Compared to fabric-wrapped cords, non-fabric cords are much easier to clean and maintain.

3. Durability: During our testing, we found that the fabric on these cords tends to get damaged easily during installation, which can detract from the aesthetic and negatively impact the customer experience.

For these reasons, we opted not to use fabric-wrapped cords.

I'm thrilled with my new paper lantern! I've had lanterns in the past, but I don't think they were nearly as large as this one... The size definitely makes a statement. Be super careful when you take the lantern out of its cardboard -- the paper can tear easily. Thankfully, mine came with no defects or damage. It looks perfect. After reading a number of reviews saying it's not as big as it claims, I went back and measured. To my surprise, it does seem to be smaller than the listed dimensions! I'm surprised, though, because it seems darn big as it is. Even though I'm completely happy with it, I took off a star for that discrepancy. It's still plenty big for me, though. I love it!!

A1: Start with the room size, ceiling height, and how much presence you want from the pendant. The 30D to 50D sizes work well for bedrooms, small dining areas, desks, and quiet corners. The 55D to 80D sizes suit many dining rooms and living spaces. The 100D and 120D sizes are best for high ceilings, large seating areas, entries, and open rooms with enough clearance.

A2: The pendant is hardwired by default for a clean ceiling-mounted look. If you do not have a ceiling junction box, you can purchase the compatible plug-in cord add-on separately for a single-pendant setup.

A3: Yes. A standard non-dimmable bulb is included by default. If you want remote-control brightness and color-temperature adjustment, you can purchase a compatible dimmable bulb add-on separately. For larger pendant sizes, choose a brighter bulb if you need stronger room lighting.

A4: Use it in indoor dry rooms only. It works well in dining rooms, bedrooms, living rooms, reading corners, home offices, and entries where you want soft lantern-style light.

A5: The 118" cord is adjustable during installation and can be extended by request. The standard canopy is 4.7", with custom canopy sizing available by request. If your project requires UL, ETL, CE, SAA, or other certification documentation, please contact us before ordering so we can confirm what is available for your configuration and destination.
